General Job Description

Our Client

A key role within a newly established Australian arm of a major Fortune 500 business. The business is expanding rapidly and has an ambitious plan to becoming the top integrated energy provider in Australia

About the role

Based in North Sydney, you will be responsible for supporting management accounting and strategic planning needs, including for subsidiaries and Korean headquarters. You are required to closely communicate and collaborate with the CSO and CFO office, based in Korea, as well as multiple stakeholders in Australia. This role requires to engage in financial accounting to support accounting and finance needs of company.

Duties include but may not be limited to the below:

Management accounting and planning

  • Prepare monthly financial performance reporting
  • Provide financial analysis and financial & operational information to business across entities
  • Assist in financial risk, cash flow management and forecast
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management report about business performance and agenda
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc management report about business strategy and operations
  • Actively collaborate with business teams to analyze and manage business performance
  • Engage and assist in preparing short-long term business strategy and business plan
  • Engage and assist in preparing budget and managing budget variance
  • Assist in managing organization performance and delivering management directions
  • Other ad-hoc planning tasks as required

Financial accounting

  • Record the financial transactions of a business in bookkeeping software (Xero)
  • Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries
  • Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions
  • Assist in payroll process
  • Complete end of month close procedures
  • Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
  • Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation
  • Comply with Australian Accounting Standards Board for financial statements
  • Other ad-hoc accounting / finance tasks as required

Your skills and requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience (Management accounting experience is required)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Korean required (Essential)
  • Self-motivated, passionate, positive and excellent team player
  • Highly organised with strong ability to prioritise and deliver tasks to agreed deadlines
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software packages
  • CA / CPA certificate desirable
  • Experience in energy business desirable
