The client

Our client is a leading international organisation managing the full cycle of development of large-scale solar projects, with a world class team of professionals providing innovative solutions for solar needs Australia wide. They are one of the world's fastest growing solar companies in the solar industry. Due to their expansion, they are looking for an Asset Management and Compliance Coordinator to join their diverse and collaborative team.

The Role

Our client is looking for an Asset Management and Compliance Coordinator to be responsible for supporting the analytical aspects of the Energy Group’s Development business from a compliance and Asset Management perspective. Being a dual-reporting role between EG Australia and Global Asset Management, the role will be responsible for the client's owned and originated projects as well as Asset Management for third party projects. Key functions include reporting, modelling, forecasting, contract & document management, compliance, and market transaction processes. The position will work extensively with different areas of the business regions and other centralized teams including Legal, Finance, EPC, Commercial, Development and Project Finance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide value by helping to grow and maintain a strong pipeline of active large-scale projects from inception through to approval and NTP (and beyond as required).
  • Based on interactions with key third parties, identify shifts in market and regulatory trends
  • Support and maintain strong relationships with the project development team in Australia.
  • Work closely work with structuring and commercial teams to manage customer needs, especially in reaching agreement on difficult commercial and legal points.
  • Maximize returns for each project by optimizing project inputs, structure, and execution strategy in conjunction with other teams within our client and partner organisations.
  • Develop and update policy and procedures as appropriate
  • Ensure processes are followed and are compliant with relevant legislation and key project agreements
  • Document, maintain and manage contract compliance obligations for key projects and agreements both owned by EG as well as managed on a third-party basis.
  • Introduce best practice compliance processes and monitoring techniques
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management and team members in relation to AM activities and contractual requirements for projects under management.
  • Management compliance with electricity market rules and other laws as it relates to project operations
  • This position operates independently whilst carrying out the duties and requires open communication with Internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain necessary relationships both inside and externally with relevant industry contacts to maintain and enhance effectiveness.
  • Providing regular mentorship, assistance and training to others as required

Selection Criteria

To be successful for this position, you should have:

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering preferred, but qualifications in finance, economics, and other commercial disciplines also acceptable if supported by commensurate development experience
  • 5-10+ years’ experience in PV, storage and/or renewable energy industries
  • Extensive knowledge of PV and Battery Storage products and related services
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian electricity market as well as invoicing, market operations and asset optimisation
  • Risk identification and management
  • Contract and compliance management
  • Strong working knowledge of the Project Development cycle and plant operations in Australia.
  • Financial Modelling and documentation administration
  • Strong knowledge of EPC, O&M and other core functions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and create direction and priorities for the team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to operate in a collaborative working environment
