General Job Description
Project Development Manager
- Working on MW scale solar farms and battery hybrid projects
- Melbourne based role
- Opportunity to get involved in the full-spectrum of development – EPC.
The company:
Our client is fast-growing project development and EPC company based in Melbourne. With recent success in selling a project portfolio over 100 MW of solar systems, and the successful commissioning of 12 sites at full generation capacities, they are now getting busy with the construction of the projects while working on a further long-term pipeline of over 300MW solar and battery storage projects.
The role:
Our client is looking for a Project Development Manager to manage the entire development process through personal input and management of necessary specialists and consultants in securing complete and timely handover to client.
You will be involved in taking projects from an early stage through to financial close, managing budget and internal/external resources to secure all necessary planning and secondary approvals required for the of construction of the projects
Your main responsibilities will include:
Client Management
- Developing professional relationships at all levels
- Maximising penetration to create ongoing opportunities
- Managing communication flow to ensure clear understanding of project progress
Stakeholder Management
- Managing interaction with a wide variety of Government Departments, both State and Federal to gain relevant approvals
- Selecting relevant consultants/experts to provide supporting services to specific project needs
- Managing output and quality of providers
- Community consultation when required
- Actively being involved in relevant industry forums to raise company profile
Land
- Securing options and leases
- Securing site specific permits
Project Design
- Site Survey
- Geotechnical Survey
- Development Approval
- Compliance to Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
Grid Interconnection
- Grid interconnection application
- Study packages (engineering support)
- Regulatory and utility engagement
Selection Criteria
To be successful for this position you must have:
- Proven track record of developing utility-scale solar farms and stand-alone BESS facilities
- Facilitating connection application process from pre-enquiry to connection offer stage
- Experience in leading and motivating a diverse and multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, accountants, procurement and specialist consultants
- Creation and management of project management programs and budgets
- Proven track of Construction or Development Management experience
- Experience in Town Planning and the Development Approval process through state government and relative council
- A sound understanding of Solar and BESS construction costs, methodologies & efficiencies
- Experience in preparing tenders, project briefs, assessing submissions and engaging builders
- Financial reporting of the projects
- Experience in project budgeting, revenue creation and expense management.
