With an international track record of over 4GW, more than 13 years of experience in the tracker field, and 50 diverse patents, our clients are a developer of mounting and tracking systems for solar installations at megawatt scale. A German based provider of high-performance solar tracking system, they are a trusted partner in most advanced solar PV tracking technology.  

To expand their Australian team, they are now looking for a Sales & Application Engineer to ideally join them in Sydney or the East Coast. Option to work from home also available.

 

Opportunity

This is an excellent chance to provide technical expertise to support the growing solar tracker business in Australia, while having your say and playing an active role in the growth of the local team. 

Serving as the “technical expert” on all of the company's tracking systems, you will work closely with the Sales team, while coordinating with Field Technicians for onsite support. This position will work closely with R&D and the Project Management team to deploy and optimize software and data analysis solutions and services and to monitor and optimize the performance of existing sites.

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

  • Work cross-functionally to support the development, deployment, and optimization of software solutions and services and coordinate with Field Technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot systems onsite as needed.
  • Respond to and process requests for proposals (RFI, RFQ, RFP)
  • Provide primary technical support for the customer after proposal and layout stage through sourcing, training, component delivery, and project commissioning.
  • Design 2D, 3D renderings & structural calculations based on project intake and customer-provided data, edit and optimize customer projects in AutoCAD, PVCase, PVsyst, and other PV software.
  • Develop technical support documentation and customer-facing product guides and presentations, train customers and educate staff on systems applications.

 

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication and organization skills and the ability to present technical topics in a clear and concise manner, as well as:

 

  • Solar experience is a must. Ideally 3-5+ years of experience in energy product management.
  • Degree in Mechanical/ Civil/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Information Systems or similar. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and performance engineering tools including PVCase, PV-LIB, and other PV software/models.
  • The position requires some travel related to industry exhibits and project deliverables.
