The Company

Our client is an Australian-owned and operated service provider for the Renewable Energy. Our client is specialised in the utility-scale PV solar and battery energy storage systems, with high expertise in engineering, procurement, construction and operation of large-scale projects. 

 

The Opportunity

The Estimator primary responsibility will be to accurately estimate the costs associated with Solar projects and EPC activities. The Estimator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Business Development/Sales team by creating proposals, tracking project costs, understanding customer specifications and proposing final budgets. Additionally, the Estimator will be reporting and presenting analysis to management.

The Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement effective estimating processes and procedures specific to solar projects and EPC work. 
  • Read, interpret, and understand complex customer technical specifications, drawings, and other requirements related to solar and EPC projects.
  • Develop scopes of work, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for subcontractors or vendors in alignment with solar and EPC project requirements. 
  • Lead estimating efforts for solar and EPC projects by setting up templates, developing procurement schedules, and presenting first principles methodology during reviews. 
  • Actively participate in Risk & Opportunity and contract reviews for solar and EPC projects, identifying potential risks and opportunities. 
  • Conduct thorough research and maintain a comprehensive database on labor costs, materials, equipment, production times, and industry trends specific to solar and EPC projects. 

 

Selection Criteria

 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar projects estimation and EPC work. 
  • Utility Scale Solar experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams involved in solar and EPC projects.
  • Qualification in Electrical Trade, Project Management, Engineering, Contract Management, or a similar discipline is highly desirable.
  • Wide knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes specific to solar and EPC projects. 
  • Experience in tendering for complex solar projects and EPC contracts.
