As the business is now expanding into the Australian market, they are on the lookout for a Field Applications Engineer with Large-scale Solar experience.

Role & Responsibilities

The Field Applications Engineer will interface with customers to engineer systems, develop deployment plans, and deploy systems – including on-site support, training, and post commissioning support as needed, as well as conduct internal product testing, interoperability studies and documentation.

 

  • Customer support. Provide top-tier customer proposal support for sales, customer service & technical support for large-scale solar. Address field issues & provides relevant solutions.
  • Field applications engineering. Engineer methods & procedures for installing products in target segment(s) applications and provide engineering assistance to sales. Create and/or review manuals & design guides.
  • Deployments. Install products at customer and external sites to satisfy sales process & sales. Manage & supervise installations using the firm's best practices & installation guidelines.
  • Field performance evaluation. Validate & quantify field product performance metrics for value proposition.
  • Product definition. Provide feedback to Product Development teams, assist in defining MRD’s (Market Requirements Document) and PRD’s (Product Requirements Document), internal product testing & product development support testing.
  • Customer training. Train end users on reliable, safe, and code-compliant methods to install & configure products using industry best practices and the company's installation methods.

  

Selection Criteria

Showcasing a strong background in safe PV array best practices and knowledge of PV inverter topologies, the successful candidate will have the ability to maintain strong customer rapport and excellent, timely communication, while also keeping sales volume to existing and new client by providing the best products, price and solutions.

 

  • Minimum 2-3 years PV System Design & Installation and PV Array Commissioning & Troubleshooting expertise.
  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Physics (or related) or 2-5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Ability & flexibility to travel. Must be based in Australia.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting in the field.
  • New Energy Storage & PV certification preferred, or entry level certificate.
  • Project planning ability to ensure efficient scheduling, staffing & materials on a project basis with both customers and company operations.
