About the Role
This is a full-time temporary role for a minimum period of six months, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs and upcoming company development projects.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Assistant will join a finance team currently composed of three people and will play a key role in supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and compliance activities.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a junior finance professional looking to build strong accounting foundations within a large international business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, and payment workflows accurately and on time
- Maintain supplier master data and support purchase order / invoice matching
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders on payment-related queries
- Support continuous improvement of AP processes and systems
2. Accounts Receivable
- Raise invoices and other customer billing documents as required
- Monitor and maintain customer receivables schedules
- Manage customer master data and finance system interfaces
- Support sales and revenue reconciliation processes
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate billing and collections
3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journals, provisions, and reconciliations
- Assist with bank, balance sheet, inventory, and financing-related reconciliations
- Contribute to cash flow reporting, ageing reviews, and financial analysis
- Support internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external audit requests where required
Requirements
Hard Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of internal controls, financial compliance processes, IFRS, or international business environments would be advantageous
Australian work rights are required.
