Asset Manager (Chinese speaker) – Solar & BESS

With recent investments in the Australian power market and partnerships with renowned developers, they focus on large-scale Energy Storage & Solar projects. Their diverse portfolio and proven track record in Taiwan and beyond include over 1.5 GW of developed Solar Power capacity globally.

The Opportunity

As they recently invested in the Australian power market and partnered with a renowned Renewable Energy Developer & retail utility company to focus on developing large-scale Energy Storage & Solar projects locally, they are looking for a large-scale Solar & BESS Asset Manager to help maximize asset value by overseeing operations, preparing design, operations and maintenance report templates, conducting routine reports and frequent site visits and engaging with stakeholders, while ensuring smooth transitions from construction to O&M phases. 

Position based in Sydney CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of solar and BESS assets to ensure optimal performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Develop and maintain asset management plans, internal processes, and procedures for efficient delivery of asset management services.
• Conduct regular financial analysis to monitor asset performance and identify improvement areas. Support budget preparation, analysis of P&L variance & cash flow forecast.
• Maintain effective relationships with shareholders, regulators, off-takers, service providers, etc., and ensure counterparties fulfill their contractual obligations.
• Lead internal approval requests for procurement and manage project budgets. Lead and support workstreams associated with asset refinancing.
• Identify & mitigate risks associated with asset ownership and operation, defining the risk tolerance for each specific asset. Manage insurance & warranty claims.

Selection Criteria

• Fluent in Chinese and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field & proficient in CMMS tools (e.g. SAP, etc).
• 3+ years in Asset Management ideally in Australian Solar, BESS, or Wind sectors.
• Experience with HV equipment, including troubleshooting HV faults in large-scale solar projects will be an advantage.
• Strong technical, contractual, and commercial knowledge of Solar, Wind, and BESS assets; 
• Interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills; collaborative in fast-paced environments.
