They currently also have grid-connected solar assets in South Australia. Committed to the investment, development and operation of solar power stations and new energy in Australia, they are looking to further develop and build large-scale Solar & Battery Storage projects in QLD, NSW and New Zealand.

The Opportunity

This is a 1-year contract position with high likelihood for extension, due to visibility for several projects in the pipeline. Based in New Zealand, the Construction Manager will be focusing on their EPC project for a 21MW Solar Farm in the North Island of New Zealand, on the outskirts of Auckland.

A challenging role for a capable individual with a strong background in civil works and large-scale wind or solar project experience to manage a small team on site. Immediate start. Site-based.

The Responsibilities

  • Manage on-site construction activities, ensuring fully compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Efficiently coordinate with internal Project Engineering and Procurement team, external subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare construction management plan
  • Review drawings and promptly address technical issues related to solar photovoltaic installation on site;
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage industrial relations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, manage defects, and oversee project close-out activities.

The Selection Criteria

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as ideally civil background and previous experience working on challenging terrain, the successful candidate will have:

  • Over 3 years’ experience in a similar role in Utility-scale Solar or Wind farm project.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or above
  • In-depth knowledge of Solar Farm Construction procedures, PV systems, safety regulations, and Contract Management
  • Solid experience in project reporting and documentation control
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.
  • Understanding of relevant applicable standards and codes for solar farms in Australia or NZ.
  • Willing to be travel and be located at project sites for the course of the project
