This is an unique opportunity to join a leading large-scale Solar PV Manufacturer with global expertise and established factories worldwide and known for its technological and manufacturing innovations. As its senior leadership have already achieved prior notable success in the Australian Solar space, the company now plans to set up a local production facility and R&D base in Australia, expand the industrial chain, and retain high-value-added production and services within the country. By collaborating with local companies and research institutions, the goal is to build a fully-integrated photovoltaic industry chain in Australia, featuring local ownership, R&D, and both local and overseas production.


The Role

This position would best fit a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and enhance our EHS programs, establish policies and guide the company through the required procedures to ensure compliance with all the relevant EHS Queensland regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the manufacturing industry, the ability to create and implement organizational safety guidelines, and a passion for promoting a safe and healthy work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide EHS training and education to employees at all levels.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into all aspects of manufacturing operations.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and enhance EHS programs.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g. CSP, WHSO, Hazardous Materials Handling, NEBOSH, IOSH equivalents)
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Previous exposure to the Solar PV industry will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
