Quality Engineer – Solar Farm

Part of a renowned global leader in smart energy solutions, our client is an intelligent manufacturing enterprise originally focusing on photovoltaic cells and modules with business footprints in over 140 countries and regions and branch companies and sales centers in countries like Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, US, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and Australia, achieving great sales performance of their PV products in international mainstream markets of Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

The company currently has multiple grid-connected solar assets in South Australia. Committed to the investment, development and operation of solar power stations and new energy in Australia, they are looking to further develop and build large-scale Solar & Battery Storage projects in QLD, NSW and New Zealand.

The Opportunity

A complex and exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our client’s Australian team and be involved in their Solar Farms & BESS projects in both Australia & New Zealand. Reporting to the Project Manager in New Zealand or China.

  • Flexible arrangement – fully work from home + site visits.
  • Travel required domestically & internationally (limited to Australia, New Zealand and islands nearby) to various project sites, particularly in the early stage of project execution

The Responsibilities

Showcasing project engineering and strong interpersonal skills and capable of working in an international multicultural environment, communicating with third party firms and being responsible for the quality assurance during project execution. 

    • Monitor project quality management plan, including ITPs & ITCs, ensuring completed in line with the approved design from the authority and meets site requirements.  
    • Conduct detailed assessments at various project stages to meet owner specifications & perform quality checks, maintaining the project schedule.
    • Familiar with applicable standards and regulations in Australia & New Zealand.
    • Liaise with the owner’s quality department, attend weekly QA coordination meetings, and provide ongoing reporting on project quality issues.
    • Assist in implementing corrective actions and report to management, assisting the Project Manager with quality reporting.
    • Provide ongoing support & training to project teams, promoting best practices & compliance with company policies, guidelines, procedures.
    • Assist in developing & monitoring continuous improvement processes, select quality inspection tools & software, and review statistical data to identify & eliminate quality problems.


    

    The Selection Criteria

    The successful candidate will have a positive and proactive approach to safety, excellent communication skills and professional work standards, with a high attention to detail, as well as:

    • Minimum 2-3 years demonstrated work experience as QA Engineer in utility-scale Solar Farm projects & EPC. 
    • Strong on-site quality engineering experience and practical knowledge, ideally on solar farm sites. 
    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related field are essential;
    • Valid White Card/general construction induction card & Australian/ NZ Driver License
    • Willing to travel to various project sites to complete tasks;
    • MUST have valid working rights for AUS & NZ.
