They are now seeking a dynamic National Key Account & Business Development Manager to lead client engagement and sales for utility-scale solar projects ranging from 2MW to over 500MW. This role is pivotal in managing strategic relationships and navigating complex sales cycles, with a focus on Solar Inverts.

The Role

As the Sales & Business Development Manager you will be the key interface between our clients and internal global teams, ensuring seamless coordination from tender to contract close. If you thrive in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment and are skilled in technical sales, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Reporting to the Project Sales Director, you will be responsible of managing critical client relationships and facilitate the sales process for Utility-scale projects in Australia. This includes preparing quotations, commercial review, tender preparation and contract negotiation for large-scale projects, including off-grid and hybrid systems from 2MW up to >500MW, concentrating on mining and resources companies. This process will include extensive coordination with various internal stakeholders across multiple countries.

The Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the utility-scale renewable energy sector.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process: business development, tender response, quotations, commercial review, and contract negotiation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Australia and international offices to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage customer relationships with developers, IPPs, EPCs, consultants & regulatory bodies.
  • Understand customer requirements, review technical specifications, and deliver tailored solutions by pitching products and services via presentations and meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our product portfolio & its applications in large-scale solar.
  • Utilise Salesforce and SAP to manage the sales pipeline and reporting.
  • Prepare and manage large-scale tenders with a methodical and deadline-driven approach.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will be a presentable and personable individual, with an ability to confidently present to senior industry players, have experience working in a cross-cultural environment across multiple offices and the ability to work between various time zone. You will have:

  • Over 2-3 years in Sales/ Business Development/ Project Development in Renewable Energy or large-scale infrastructure space.
  • Proven success in commercial contract negotiation and project-based sales with an understanding of legal and commercial terms.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Commerce, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience of the sales process related to projects or systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable/ conventional energy systems/ solar inverters highly desirable.
  • Experience working with & selling to EPCs, while managing complex stakeholder environments.
